Marvel Zombies' to Unleash Animated Horror on Disney+ This September
LOS ANGELES – Marvel fans are about to witness a darker side of the Multiverse. Marvel Studios Animation has officially announced that its highly anticipated animated series, Marvel Zombies, will premiere on September 24, 2025, exclusively on Disney+. The four-part series is set to be Marvel's first animated project with a TV-MA rating, targeting a more mature audience.
Adapted from the popular horror comic book series, Marvel Zombies continues the story from the What If...? season one episode, "What If… Zombies?!". The series is set in an alternate universe where a quantum virus has transformed iconic heroes and villains into flesh-eating zombies.
The plot will center on a group of surviving heroes and humans who must fight for survival in a dystopian world overrun by the infected. Fans can expect to see characters like Shang-Chi, Yelena Belova, and Kate Bishop trying to hold their own against zombified versions of heroes such as Captain America, Scarlet Witch, and Abomination.

The series is directed by Bryan Andrews, who also helmed the original What If...? episode, and written by Zeb Wells. With its release date now confirmed, Marvel Zombies is shaping up to be a must-watch event just in time for the Halloween season.
